From VBS to Salted Cod

Your eyes, O Lord, move to and fro throughout the whole earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to You. (II Chronicles 16:9)

The sweet promises of God are a blessing to us because we know he sees us and strengthens us as we work here in Portugal. The Bible School Program was an enriching experience. The children's sweet faces and expectant hearts were a blessing to all of us.

After the second session, 4 children who had never asked Jesus into their hearts believed in Him for salvation -- praise the Lord! We left our rented house at 10:30 a.m. And did not return until after 10:00 p.m. It was a long and satisfying day.

We ate our lunch and dinner at the church and Pastora Cida, the Pastor from the church, made Brazilian food -- especially for Beth --- including delicious rice & black beans, maionese (potato salad), and flan for dessert.

After leaving the church, we stopped at a shopping mart and had our first taste of Portuguese grocery shopping -- you should see the fresh fish and dried, salted cod fish. We're definitely not at Meijer!
